It doesn’t take a private investigator to know if you have rats and mice. By paying attention to the following signs you’ll be able to know if you have a problem that needs controlling.
Signs of infestation
Droppings -- dark in color, from 1/8" (mice) to 3/4" long (rats)
Tracks and tail drags through dust and dirt
Greasy rub marks on walls and baseboards made by rodents as they run along their "routes"
Household pets excitedly pawing at cabinets, under appliances or at walls
Scampering and scratching noises coming from the walls and ceiling at night
Evidence of gnawing and chewing on boxes, wires, packaged goods and around pipes, ducts and vents
Burrows or nests outside buildings
An actual mouse or rat – if you see one, you can bet he’s not alone! They are very social animals.
Spread talcum powder around suspected areas, then check back a couple days later for footprints and tail swishing in the powder.
